Busy weekend coming up!

There's a lot going on this weekend! I'm a guest performer with the Folsom Lake Youth Chamber Orchestra at the Harris Center on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. I'll be performing JS Bach's Concerto for Oboe and Violin, each movement featuring a different member of the orchestra on the solo violin part. Also on that concert is a performance of the Chaminade Concertino by one of my students. These kids are really amazing! They play with such sensitivity and style across the eras of classical music, you'd swear they were much older than junior high and high school aged! On Sunday evening, I'll be playing with Kirsten Smith and Sandra McPherson at Sac State's Capistrano Hall. The three of us will play Libby Larsen's Barn Dances, a very fun piece influenced by steps in cowboy dances. Then, Kirsten and I will play the Franck Sonata, a big, beautiful violin solo, transcribed later with the composer's blessing for cello, viola, and flute. Information on tickets, directions, and parking is all here.

Hope to see you this weekend!
