Happy 2010 everyone! It's already shaping up to be a good year!
My news thus far all involves Citywater, Sacramento's own modern chamber ensemble. We are committed to bringing the newest chamber music to Sacramento audiences. To do that, we have established a concert series! With the help of Derek Keller, composer and music department faculty at Folsom Lake College, we will present three concerts at St. Paul's Episcopal Church downtown! Each concert will feature Citywater with special guest artists.
Get out your calendars and save the following Furlough Fridays:
February 5th, April 16th, and June 11th. All concerts will be at 8pm.
It's the Furlough Friday Concert Series, featuring Citywater! Hopefully, we'll be giving you a little something extra to look forward to on those fabulously famous Furlough Fridays! The extra fun part is that furloughed state workers will get a deep discount just by handing over a business card!
I'll be posting all the details very soon in the calendar section, so be sure to check back!

...also known as Tupelo coffee shop. Good coffee, free wifi, and eighties music today! It's a great place to get work done. Something about the constant low buzz of conversation, the squeal of the milk steamer, the growl of the bean grinder, and the occasional pounding out of used grounds that helps me concentrate.
Today's work: the continuing saga of building Citywater into an awesome non-profit corporation. I swear, for every one question I get answered, five more pop up that I didn't even consider! Ah well, it's a labor of love.
Later today, teaching, running, swimming, and...oh yeah...practicing! It's time to take the Muramatsu to the shop, which gives me extra time for the traverso. The Telemann is going to be great, so be sure to check out the Sacramento Baroque Soloists concert October 3rd!
Mmmm...a little David Bowie while I get back to work!
